[Eat Fair Campaign] Infinite Food Design Challenge (Hong Kong Region)

Default Event Background

To raise awareness among students and the public about food-related issues faced by underprivileged groups, and to promote 'Eat Fair' culture, Oxfam is launching the [Eat Fair Campaign] Infinite Food Design Challenge in both Hong Kong and Macau this academic year. The competition encourages participants to use innovative thinking and empathy to design nutritious and balanced lunch sets that meet the needs of the service target.

 

Objectives: 

  • To encourage students to pay attention to issues such as poverty in Hong Kong and around the world, unequal distribution of resources, and climate change.
  • To inspire students to care for disadvantaged communities facing poverty and hunger through creativity and action.
  • To promote a "Good Food" culture and put the spirit of "Global Citizenship" into practice.

 

Levels of Entry: 

  • The Primary and Secondary School : participants are required to design a lunch set for service target. The judges will select the top five entries from each of the two levels to advance to the finals. The finalists are required to cook the shortlisted menu on-site. The judges will evaluate and select the outstanding entries, followed by the award presentation.

 

  • Kindergarten:Design of a lunch set that may include a combination of staple foods, main dishes, side dishes, soups, and beverages for the service target.

Awards 

  • Winning teams will receive generous prizes, including OpenRice e-vouchers, Soundwill Club e-vouchers, Ocean Park admission tickets, Yan Wo Tong product redemption coupons etc . The total value of the prizes for the champion in the primary and secondary school categories exceeds $5,000.
