Approaching Carbon Neutrality Tell a Green Story Competition (2026)

This competition centers on the SDGs with carbon neutrality as the core objective. Participants must select one or two SDG from 6 specific SDGs: SDG 6 Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 7Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12 ResponsibleConsumption and Production, SDG 13 Climate Action, and SDG 14 Life Below Water, andintegrate decarbonization and carbon neutrality goals into their project design.
Participants are encouraged to adopt a cross-disciplinary perspective to systematically link carbonneutrality with issues such as water resources, energy, sustainable cities, responsible consumption,
climate action, and marine conservation, enhancing understanding of how carbon neutrality relatesto the SDGs.
Eligibility & Categories
Eligibility: Primary and Secondary School students in Hong Kong and other cities within theGreater Bay Area (including members of youth groups under 21 years old).
Categories: Primary School Category, Secondary School Category, Youth Groups Category (under21 years old).
Team-based participation, with 2 to 4 members per team. Team identity may be under the name of their school, school club, class, youth group, etc.
Themes & Tasks
Participant Tasks:
1. Themes Selection: Participants must select one or two SDG from SDG 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, and 14as the core concepts of their project and integrate them with “Carbon Neutrality”.
2. Conceptualization & Implementation: Design a project and implement it within the school or
community. The project must embody the chosen "one or two SDG" and the "CarbonNeutrality" concept.
3. Required Competition Submission Content and Specifications:
✓ Secondary School Category:
❖ Video: No more than 4 minutes long. The proposal content and highlights may bepresented in Cantonese, Putonghua, or English.
❖ Report: 20–30 pages, with no more than 1,000 words in total (for the PPT). It maybe written in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, or English. The report should detail the proposal design, implementation plan, outcomes, etc. The presentation time limit is nomore than 4 minutes.
✓ Primary School Category:
❖ Video: No more than 3 minutes long. The proposal content and highlights may bepresented in Cantonese, Putonghua, or English.
❖ Report: 10–20 pages, with no more than 500 words in total (for the PPT). It may bewritten in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, or English. The report should detail the proposal design, implementation plan, outcomes, etc.
Awards & Recognition Secondary School Category
First Prize: 4 students and 1 teacher will be sponsored to participate in the 4-day, 3-night exchange programme at Tsinghua University
Second Prize: 3 students and 1 teacher will be sponsored to participate in the 4-day, 3-night exchange programme at Tsinghua University
Third Prize: HK$1,000 Team Cash Award
(Note: Teachers and students participating in the Tsinghua University exchange programmewill be recommended by the award-winning schools/ groups)
