As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly integrated into teaching, learning and school administration, educators need not only to develop proficiency in using AI tools, but also to understand data protection, potential risks and the principles of responsible AI use. Developing strong AI safety awareness and data literacy can help safeguard student and school data while enhancing teachers’ ability to use AI effectively to support teaching and learning.

This seminar will explore key issues relating to data privacy, information security and common risks associated with generative AI, helping teachers understand the fundamental principles of data protection in educational settings. Through practical classroom scenarios, participants will also learn prompt engineering techniques and how to design effective prompts to support lesson preparation, resource development and learning activity design. In addition, the seminar will examine emerging AI security concerns, including prompt injection, and share practical approaches to risk prevention and management. By fostering safe, effective and responsible AI use, the seminar aims to equip educators with the knowledge and skills to confidently leverage AI to enhance teaching effectiveness and support student learning.
