As generative AI becomes increasingly integrated into education, teachers need not only to understand how to use AI, but also to develop the skills to apply it safely, effectively and appropriately in their everyday teaching practice. This seminar will draw on common educational scenarios to introduce, through practical examples, the fundamental principles of data privacy, information security, content verification and the responsible use of AI. It will help teachers identify potential risks associated with the use of data and AI-generated content, and make informed decisions when using AI in their professional practice.
Through practical teaching tasks, the seminar will also demonstrate effective prompt design strategies, enabling teachers to provide AI with clear learning objectives, student context and specific requirements, and to apply these approaches to curriculum planning, learning and teaching materials development, learning activity design and lesson preparation. Complemented by authentic classroom examples and teachers’ practical experiences, the seminar will illustrate how AI applications can be adapted to different subjects, learning objectives and student needs. Participants will gain practical approaches that they can apply in their everyday teaching practice to enhance lesson preparation efficiency while maintaining data security, content quality and professional judgement.
