As Artificial Intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly embedded in education, teachers need not only to develop the skills to use AI tools effectively, but also to understand how they can be combined with appropriate pedagogical approaches to maximise their impact on learning. Through practical examples across different subject areas, this seminar will explore how suitable AI tools can be selected according to learning objectives and effectively integrated into pre-lesson, in-class and post-lesson learning activities to enhance student engagement, learning effectiveness and self-directed learning.
The seminar will cover the development of a school-based Knowledge Management System, the use of AI to design differentiated learning tasks that cater for learner diversity, and the integration of process writing and AI-generated feedback to support students in continuously refining and improving their work. In addition, participants will learn how AI-generated images and videos, together with interactive learning resources, can be used to transform abstract concepts and learning difficulties into more accessible and engaging learning experiences, building connections between visual understanding and logical reasoning to help students overcome conceptual barriers. The seminar will also examine how AI can support lesson preparation, teaching material development and curriculum renewal, enabling more interactive, targeted and effective teaching and learning practices.
