This workshop focuses on the current needs of digital education in Hong Kong, with an emphasis on special educational needs (SEN) and student mental health support. It will share practical, localised examples/applications of AI in education. The workshop will examine practical AI use cases in schools and, with reference to the Education Bureau's Three-tier Support Model, explore how AI can support the design of Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) and the development of teaching materials tailored to local students' needs—addressing current limitations of existing tools in local contexts.
It will also introduce AI-assisted behavioural intervention strategies that school counsellors and frontline teachers can apply directly in day-to-day student support. At the same time, the workshop will provide practical guidance from the perspectives of both education administrators and frontline educators. Real cases of digital support for SEN and mental health support from Mainland China will also be shared, offering cross-regional insights to help schools promote digital special education and student mental health support more effectively.
